 Betsy's flash fiction piece, "Friend or Foe" won the September 14, 2012 contest at Indies Unlimited. Stories are written in response to a photo prompt. Winners will appear in an ebook anthology at year end.

Betsy took First Place in heat 5 of round 2 of the NYC Midnight 2012 Short Story Challenge. Her story
"I'm a Believer" (genre: fantasy, theme: luck, character: a lead singer) qualifies her as one of the 25
writers who go to round 3 (the finals). The finalists will be given a new topic at midnight Friday the 13th and have 24 hours to write a 1,000 word story. The story will appear in the January 2013 issue of Fabula Argenta magazine under the pen name Delfina Hex.

placed 3rd in the SNM Horror Magazine April/May Issue 1, themed Alter Egos. (Note: this website is not for
the faint of heart! Somewhat explicit graphics) This story is published under the pen name Desdemona Pike. The story will also appear in SNM's anthology Bonded by Blood V.
Betsy's short story "The Green Monster won Third place in the early March flash contest at LinkedIn's Aspiring Writers Group. The competition genre was mystery, theme was buying an old house in the country, focus was a worn handwritten letter found in a safe hidden behind a picture.
Betsy made the top five in heat 19 of NYC Midnight 2012 Short Story Challenge round one. Her story "Exclusive Exposure" (genre: horror, theme: bullying, character: photographer) qualifies her as one of 125 writers who go on to round two.
